Czech Republic Gay Guide

The Czech Republic is ranked as the third most peaceful country in Europe as well as the most democratic and healthy (by infant mortality) country in the central region. Moreover, Czech Republic is considered to be one of the most liberal central European countries with regards to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) rights. In 2006, the country legalized registered partnerships for same-sex couples, while since 2016, single gay travelers can adopt.

Despite the country's high level of gay acceptance, the Czech Republic is not particularly known for its developed gay scene. In Prague, you will find the most popular gay venues in the country, including the gay bars of The Saints Bar, The Piano Bar, The Klub 21, and the DANDY.

For gay clubbing, you should also head to Prague, where the gay clubs organize frequent themed nights. Apart from the popular gay dance clubs in the city, like Club TerMax, Club TerMIX, and Friends Prague, you will also find various gay cruising clubs like Factory Club, Heaven Club, and Alcatraz. Brno is the home of a great gay cruising club called Gibon as well!    

Are you into a more steamy cruising experience? Then, the gay saunas of Prague will excite you. Prague features the biggest gay sauna scene in Eastern Europe, with great gay saunas like Sauna Labyrinth, Sauna Babylonia, Sauna Bonbon, and Sauna David. Be careful since there are many pickpockets there! 

Considering the gay events of Czech Republic, they are quite limited, while the most popular gay event is actually the Prague Pride, taking place every year in August. In addition to the gay pride, the gay bars and clubs of Prague feature frequent gay-themed nights, some of which are weekly.
