At the town, there are remnants of the gate, drawbridge, streets, and houses, a mosque, and three churches. Skiathos Old Town is a neighbourhood with the Bourtzi Fortress, a fortress with picturesque vistas of the old port. There's also a beautiful harbour waterfront, tight alleys and stairways, and dark marble paving stones with a variety of shops on them. Lalaria Beach is a pretty and secluded beach only accessible by water, with towering, impassable cliffs made up of natural arches and caves. Mandraki is a natural reserve of undeveloped coastline with three beaches in bays and beach bars all around. Tsougria is an island with four beaches and a viewpoint on a rocky ridge with a panoramic view of Skiathos and Skopelos. Koukounaries Beach is a long sandy beach in a natural park with beach bars along the sides. Agios Nikolaos Church and Clock Tower is a monument above Chora's old town with a panoramic view of the harbour, the white houses of the old town, and the mountains inland. Agia Eleni Beach is a more low-key beach, with rentals for canoeing, strolling, and a chapel to visit. Troulos Beach is a soft sand beach on the island with a gentle slope and crystal clear water. At this beach, you can paddleboard, kayak, and banana boat. Banana beach is a party beach for Greek students and young people who want to jet ski, wake board, and stand up paddle board. Papadiamantis House Museum is where the poet and novelist Alexandros Papadiamantis grew up and died.
