"Summer in Greece" sounds fascinating as it is, but, how about summer holidays in Crete, and more particularly in Agios Nikolaos? Agios Nikolaos has gained quite a reputation the past few years as an upcoming summer destination and, if you ask us, it's totally reasonable.

Agios Nikolaos has everything: luxury beachfront resorts, a handful of ancient sights, turquoise-water beaches, seaside towns with a untired nightlife and the authentic aroma of Crete. It's also a place with many things to do, including beach-sports and culture exploration, but nothing beats swimming at its turquoise-water beaches.

A typical day in Agios Nikolaos is peaceful and laid-back. You will start your day relaxing on a beach, sometimes with a cocktail on hand. You will take your lunches and dinners at the local tavernas, which are, by the way, very cheap. And, during your afternoons, you will take a stroll at the town's main street (usually flooded with people and street vendors).

However, to make the most of your holidays in Agios Nikolaos & Crete, you have to pick your accommodation wisely. For this reason, we have picked a wonderful resort nearby Agios Nikolaos Town, whose beachfront setting and central location (1,6 km from the the town's centre), make it an accommodation option you shouldn't easily ignore.

What you notice when arriving at St. Nicolas is its quiet location, wonderful design and ample vegetation. Its small, boutique size also doesn't pass unnoticed as it's nowhere as big as it seems in the photos. This leads to a more personalized service that's more than welcome for the visitor.

The direct access to the hotel's private beach feels like a bliss, especially if you can't rent a car to navigate through the island. Last but not least, we can't help ourselves but make a reference to the breathtaking view of Mirabello Bay, which is truly "the cherry on the top".

20+ Types of Rooms: this is what we call "diversity"

The hotel's recent renovation is obvious when entering your room. A stylish aura of luxury embraces you, while its mix & match design blends the old and the new seamlesly. The room options are plenty and diverse. If you asked us to seperate them in two categories: it would be the Standard and the Club.

TIP: Keep in mind the Last Minute Packages, as they are true value-for-money. If you are lucky, you might find discounts of more than 50%

Picking the perfect room for you is quite tricky with so many accommodation options, so we will name a few key-rooms, that will make your decision easier.

The best room, budget-wise, is the Classic Double Room. The room is spacious with a lounge corner and a writing desk. Depending on the room, it might also have a private balcony or a terrace with a breakfast table. In any case, you will always enjoy direct sea views, which is the room's most beloved feature!

If you are a small family of up to 4 people (and 1 child), the Family Suite 2 Bedroom Private Pool with Sea View is surely worth the budget. If you book on time, you might even find the special offer that turns your b&b into Half Board. Definitely worth it!

Lastly, if you are a family of 6+ people, then you should either opt for the 3 bedroom family suite with garden view, or, at a significantly higher cost, the Club Villa 3 Bedroom Private Pool Seafront (Aphrodite's House). It's only up to you, in the end. The luxury room options for couples and families are plenty, but we highly urge you to stick with the Seaview Rooms & Villas that combine both good price and stunning views.
