Vast and diverse, Morocco is a country-landmark to add in your travel-portfolio. As a destination, it's so versatile that everyone can find something to their preferences - families, couples and single travellers included. However, Morocco is not one of those destinations that booking a resort and your flights will do justice. For a complete experience, you will need lots of planning and organizing beforehand.
Many of you might think of getting a travel agency to schedule your trip there, but we do not recommend it - especially for your honeymoon. Honeymoon means freedom. The freedom to arrange your romantic holidays with your other half in any way you like. To make this a little bit easier for you, we have created this very special article-guide that will give you a heads up to your Morocco Honeymoon planning.
So, you have just gotten married - Congratulations! The wedding was a success, and all that prior-wedding planning during the past few months actually paid off. Now, you are called to do a more creative kind of planning - the planning of your honeymoon. Can't wait to start, can we?
Step #1: Find a place to call home!
The first thing to do after booking your flights is find a resort to stay. Thankfully, Morocco is home to several luxury resorts, even some of which resemble of palaces, so options are plenty. As your accommodation will surely have a huge impact on your vacations, besides most of the romantic activities will probably take place within your resort, we went ahead and carried out a research on your behalf, finding the best resort to stay during your Morocco honeymoon.
After extensive discussion, we came down to a resort in Agadir, which stands between a white-sand beach and the Atlas Mountains. It's called Paradis Plage Eco Resort, and it has everything you hoped for your "home in Morocco". Its excellent location, between mountain and sea, offer views that are as stunning as they sound to be while the available wellness activities are abundant and diverse. Moreover, the way it blends romance with beach life is out of this world.
All suites are luxurious, however, we took a particular liking to their Beach Bungalows and Premium Suites. Both suites types offer gorgeous views to the sea and are equally spacious, so a premium experience is guaranteed. Last but (definitely!) not least, Paradis Plage's four wonderful restaurants will introduce you to the crème de la crème of Moroccan cuisine. So, before proceeding to the romantic things to do, book your room at Paradis Plage here.
Step #2: Romantic things to do with your other half
One thing is for sure, there is a wealth of romantic activities to do in Morocco with your other half. However, as said before, you will need to plan them beforehand. One of the most popular romantic activities to do in Morocco, is take a stroll at Jardin Majorelle in Marrakesh. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind in nature.
Morocco is also home to two main desert areas, Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga. Although both are vast and equally stunning, riding a camel through the Sahara desert during sunset is a must-do that all couples will adore. You should also note that among the numerous desert tours available, some are particularly meant for couples.
What's next? Get pampered in a Moroccan hammam! Although this activity wants you separated for a while, it's a must-do. Hammam is very popular in Morocco and part of the locals' weekly routines. Hammams in Morocco are usually separated by gender, however in some hammams, you may rent a smaller area for you and your other half.
Following the relaxing experience of a hammam, there is nothing more stunning than the views of Morocco from a Hotel Air Balloon. Although an activity for the brave-hearted, watching Morocco's diverse and colorful landscape will get you both of surprise. You can either go for the standard ride, or even enjoy your breakfast during this very unique and breathtaking experience. The choice is yours!
Lastly, a not so romantic activity, but something that most couples love doing in Morocco is exploring the vast and colorful souks. Souks are extensive markets where locals sell Marrakchi handicrafts. Those with an interest towards handmade products will love this place, while it also offers excellent opportunities to gift-surprise your partner.
Step #3: Eat, eat, and EAT!
Starting from your breakfast - which you will most probably enjoy at L'Ocean Restaurant - you will be provided with a diversity of fresh seasonal fruits, muesli, nuts, cereals, cold meats, yoghurt, and cheeses. The pancake bar will prepare for you some of the most delicious pancakes, using local fresh honey taken from the hives, and eggs, in any way you prefer them right on the spot. That's truly a breakfast to look up to every day!
Although not as popular as other cuisines, Morocco food is delicious. All dishes are distinguished for their intense aroma and flavor, due to their heavy use of spices and herbs. In addition, when staying at Paradis Plage Resort, you don't have to look much further for traditional cuisine rather than the hotel itself, which is home to four exquisite restaurants serving from buffet to a la carte menus.
Step #4: Embrace the power of Massage and Hammam
Once again, for a romantic spa experience, you won't have to look further than Paradis Plage Resort, as it offers one of the best spa in Morocco. There you can try from hammam rituals, to soothing Paradis breaks, sensorial massages, and be introduced to the benefits of local wellness arts through the Japanese Zen Shiatsu, the Asian Cocktail Booster, the hot pebbles Oriental and much more. Sounds relaxing, doesn't it?
Although we highly recommend Paradis Plage Resort's traditional and modern hammam for an authentic wellness experience, we totally understand the need for diversity. Morocco is home to many wonderful hammams, catering to all budgets. Despite the fact that most of the popular hammams are centered around Marrakech, a couple of great places to relax are also available in Agadir.
Itrane Spa, O harmonie Spa, NATEA Massages Agadir, and Argan Palace are some of our top choices to enjoy a refreshing experience to treasure for a lifetime.
